Zhaoge Bi (hereinafter referred to as Bruce) is currently a domestic research student at the University of Sydney. He is also a software engineer with experience in full-stack web development. Bruce first arrived in Australia in 2018 from the People's Republic of China. He completed the Higher School Certificate (HSC) at Parramatta High School, and went on to pursue a Bachelor of Engineering in Software at the University of Sydney. In 2024, Bruce finished his bachelor degree and started his research degree: Master of Philosophy (engineering) in 2025.

Apart from his academic pursuits, Bruce is also interested in competitive sports and martial arts. He has some experience in racing, soccer, badminton, swimming, boxing and several years of training in Kendo.

Work Experiences

Bruce's first job was as a waiter in a restaurant, but he left the position as he did not enjoy the work. He then spent two years working as a computer hardware technician at SPC Ecycle.

Bruce's first role in software engineering was as a front-end developer at Jacaranda Flaming Consultancy. Impressed by his performance, the client later recommended him for a casual software engineer position at the University of Sydney, where he took on responsibilities as a full-stack web developer.
